Gordon Kahan
I have been teaching guitar professionally for just shy of 20 years. As a former student of rock virtuoso Joe Satriani (13 Grammy nominations) I specialize in rock and metal, but I am also proficient in classical, jazz and blues. I am a graduate of the University of California, San Diego, and a veteran performer. I have an excellent ear and a vast knowledge of music and theory: if you want to learn it, I can teach it to you. I like to teach my students songs they like, and then teach them the theory behind it so they're not just learning a song but how music is made. I strongly reccomend learning to read music on the guitar, but that is at the student's discretion.
