Mike Boyd

After teaching guitar for 8 years, Mike has developed a unique method of instruction, focusing on understanding the music as well as theoretical application. Studying jazz at Cleveland State University, his work with the band, "Big Brother's Brother" has made a significant impact on instrumental music in the Northeast. He has done work with a lot of groups, mainly focusing on rock, jazz, and improvisation. (Think Dave Mathews Band, Allman Bros.) His popularity as a teacher grew out of his efforts to go outside of the school and provide opportunities for performance, hooking up students with other musicians, and overall motivation. Also, providing assistance with tutoring, Mike has a 100% college acceptance record for students who have taken it to the next level, and guarantees progress to be quick, and effective.
