Paul Lidel

By the time Paul Lidel signed his first major label recording contract with Atlantic Records at age 23, he was already a seasoned pro having played professionally since age 14.  Paul is a veteran performer with over 1,500 shows under his belt in venues ranging from clubs and theatres to concert stages.  He has performed in 45 states in the U.S. and toured in Canada and Japan as well.   He has appeared in four MTV videos with his band "Dirty Looks" and recorded albums on Atlantic Records, Sony/RockWorld Records, Shrapnel Records, and a number of independent labels.  In January of 1994 Paul was invited to move from his home on the east coast to join Austin Texas legends "Dangerous Toys". Shortly after Paul joined the band, Columbia records awarded Dangerous Toys with a gold album for selling a half million copies of their debut album. Paul has recorded two albums with Dangerous Toys.

In addition to performing Paul also loves to teach guitar. In his 20 years as an instructor he has taught literally hundreds of students from beginners to advanced, in a wide variety of styles, while specializing in rock, and blues. Paul studied music at the Hochstein School of Music in Rochester, NY and at the College of the Fingerlakes, in Canandaigua, NY, where he majored in music and music production. He has been a member of the faculty of the National Guitar Summer Workshop in Austin Texas since 1997. He has been an instructor at Austin Guitar School since 1994.
