Sonic Pentatonic

Yo Daddio!
You can't run with the big dogs if you still
pee like a puppy and, in my opinion, anyone who tries to tell ya that it's unhip to rip
probably spends too much time on the porch. You just know that old dog called
Pentatonic is dyin' to learn some new tricks.
The circled notes in the tab below are to be tapped (hammered) with the index finger of your right hand. Example #1 is a pretty straight forward ascending lick in A minor. Also try descending it by starting on the
little string and working your way back to the bottom end. Example #2 (also in A minor) is
a little bit trickier in that you will be playing one pentatonic scale pattern with your
left hand while simultaneously hammering out another with vour right hand. Make sure that
all of your hammered notes are dear and precise before kicking up the tempo.
VVhile both of these exercises could be used as
licks themselves, they really ought to be thought of as road maps to new unmarked
territory.
Later, dude.
