She studied under the legendary Clifford Antone, Debbie Beinhorn, and Suzi Stern, then moved to New York City to gain even more knowledge and experience. She began teaching private music lessons for Ivy Music School in Upper East Side and Upper West Side Manhattan while gigging and working part-time at The Village Vanguard. She put together a band and was one of the first artists ever selected to record for free at Converse Rubber Tracks Studio in Brooklyn. She released debut rock single, "Black Cat" (2013), and classic country inspired, Somethin' New (2014) - where she also plays the mandolin. She went on tour performing at major music festivals like SXSW and Bonnaroo, then relocated to Nashville, TN.
For the past several years, Jennifer has been making a living performing popular rock and country covers on Broadway while working hard to build an impressive music catalog of original material under her publishing company at SESAC, Inc. With "making a hit" as the goal, she teamed up with the best writers in Music City and has a new EP dropping this year that is a new, exciting musical direction for Jennifer Sullivan. Now back in Texas for good, Jennifer plans to promote her music while continuing teach, write, and perform in the Austin area. She is a member of Women In Music (WIM), NSAI (National Songwriters Association), Americana Music Association (AMA), and performs charities and benefit concerts for Women's, Veteran's, and Environmental causes.
