SEPTEMBER 2017

Beginning Electric Rock Guitar Level 1   Tuesday  September 5th, 2017  6:30pm-7:30pm

  • Learn the Basics of Electric Rock Guitar Playing!!!
  • This class will teach you basic Major, minor chords & power chords (open & barred chord forms)
  • The minor Pentatonic scale, the minor scale & the Major scale
  • You will learn basic Rock progressions & Classic riff's for many popular songs......

Beginning Acoustic Blues Guitar Level 1    Wednesday  September 6th,  2017  7pm-8pm

  • Learn how much fun playing blues guitar can be!!
  • The class will focus on the varied styles of early folk, country, and Delta, as well as Chicago  and Contemporary Blues (covering) chords and progressions.
  • The minor Pentatonic scale & basic Blue's riff's.
  • Strumming, fingerpicking & playing slide.
  • Blues guitarist "Ted Hall"  aka owner/founder of AGS will be your instructor
  • Class dates: Wednesday's Sept. 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th...

Beginning Acoustic Guitar Level  1    Thursday September 7th, 2017  6pm-7pm

  • Learn Major & minor chords
  • Counting & strumming basics
  • The class will teach you how to memorize & switch chords faster!!
  • Intro to reading tablature & chord progressions will be covered

Beginning Acoustic Guitar Level  2     Thursday September 7th, 2017   7pm-8pm

  • Advance your guitar skill's with new strumming patterns
  • Broaden your chord vocabulary, learn to use Barr chords
  • This class will introduce you to Major & minor scales
  • Learn to pick out chords & notes by ear with ear training techniques
  • Your instructor Ted Hall founded AGS in 1987, has taught thousands of beginning students for over 40 yrs
  • Class dates:   Thursday's Sept. 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th ...

LEARN THE ART OF RECORDING USING GARAGE BAND ON YOUR I-PAD

  • This 2 hour seminar will teach you how to start recording your own songs or cover songs using your I-Pad. All you have to do is download Garage Band from the Applestore to get started. The only other thing you will need is a set of head phones.
  • Note: For recording Guitar tracks you will need to buy Guitar Port which is very small input jack interface (called The Guitar Rig) for your guitar to interface your headphone jack on your I-Pad. Then you will access to dozens of Guitar Amp sounds & effects.. ( The cost is less then $15.00 @ the Apple store)
  • The class will teach you how start building a song in any style of music from scratch with your main instrument using a click or drum track. If you don't play any instruments you can just start with a Drum beat. Their are 1000's of drum grooves & loops to pick from or you can build a beat from scratch as well...
  • Garage Band has many virtual instruments built in including Electric Guitar, Bass, Keyboards, Violins & Strings, Drums & all types of Percussion....
  • You won't need a vocal Mic, your Garage Band recording studio has a great recording mic built in with effects you can add after you record!!
  • Learn how to record live tracks, add instruments, effects & mix down your songs to CD quality....
  • The 2 hour Seminar is $100.00 & there are only 10 spots available.
  • The Seminar will be taught by the very talented "Mark Epstein" Recording Engineer &  Bassist...
  • The Class date is Monday Sept 18th, 2017    7pm-9pm

Beginning Acoustic Guitar for Children Level 1   (Saturdays - Date & time TBA)   

  • Founder of  AGS  Ted Hall has written a simple 4 week course for children ages 5 - 8 with no guitar playing experience, each class is 45 minutes long. 
  • This class will teach children basic guitar skill's including picking, strumming, basic counting, the musical alphabet & reading guitar tab's..
  • One parent may attend the 4-week class for free per child (parent must bring their own guitar & participate)

Beginning Electric Bass Guitar Level 1   ( Day & time TBA)

  • Learn the Basics of Electric Bass Guitar Playing!!!
  • This class will teach you Major & minor scales, basic Chord construction
  • Introduction to reading Music &  Bass Tabs

OCTOBER 2017

 

Learn how to solo over Jazz Standards in a live Jazz Improv setting   Wednesday Oct. 4th, 2017  8pm-9pm..

  • This is a 1 hour class that meets once a week on Wednesday nights 8pm-9pm for 4 weeks.
  • A basic knowledge of standard Jazz guitar chord voicings is necessary to join the class..
  • Students will attend the class each week & also take 1 private Guitar lesson every 4 weeks to be scheduled if as needed.
  • Class fee is $120.00 for all 4 weeks including 1 private lesson.
  • Class dates are: Wednesdays October 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th..
